Napan Donny Robinson, bronze medal winner at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was honored by Mayor Jill Techel at the Napa River Festival on Sunday August 31.

Robinson medaled in Bicycle Motocross (BMX) in the first Olympics to feature the sport. A Napa native and 2001 Napa High School graduate, Robinson is 25 years old and has 19 years of BMX experience.

The special recognition of Robinson’s accomplishment took place on the stage in Veterans Memorial Park just prior to the 7pm performance of the Napa Valley Symphony. The day also included river festivities, the Napa High School Marching Band, and fireworks following the Symphony performance. The event is presented annually by the Friends of the Napa River.
