The new City of Napa "Single-Use Bag Reduction Ordinance" (a.k.a. plastic bag ban) went into effect January 1, 2015. Under the ordinance single-use plastic bags are no longer permitted at retail stores, with some exceptions. Paper bags are allowed, but retailers are required to charge customers 10 cents per bag to encourage customers to use reusable bags.
