The California Alcoholic Beverage Control wants to make sure local businesses and the community know they have put together information that addresses some of the issues that businesses are facing in their earthquake recovery efforts. For specific information, click here.
The information on this website is being provided in a question and answer type of format to address the following:
- Relocation of Business Operations
- Storage of Alcoholic Beverages
- Retail License Issues Related to Breakage of Products
- Return of Inventory in Storage back to a Supplier
- Regulations that Apply to Sales or Returns by Insurers, Former Licensees or Surrendered Licenses
- Tied House Exceptions for Natural Disasters
The California ABC is already working with impacted licensees to provide assistance and find appropriate solutions to the damage resulting from the earthquake. The ABC Santa Rosa District (1-707-576-2165) and Oakland District (1-510-622-4970) Offices are available to answer questions from any ABC licensed businesses damaged in the earthquake.
In addition, ABC has developed information related to statutory and regulatory provisions that may provide assistance to some licensees, click here for that information. However, ABC understands that the current statutory and regulatory provisions may not provide the level of assistance needed by some licensees. In emergency situations, ABC can make reasonable and necessary adjustments to its standard practices to assist with recovery. ABC will continue to work with licensees to find appropriate solutions to issues caused by the earthquake.
