New Public Works Standards and Specifications Book

The new Public Works Standards and Specifications book is now available on-line on the City’s website and available for purchase at 1600 First Street in the Community Services Building.  These specifications are completely overhauled based on customer and user comments, with the addition of new updates based on new regulations and requirements.

For on-line viewing, users should click on “New July 2008” at the bottom of the Public Works Department webpage. This will provide a quick view of the new specifications. Individual selection of pdf’s and document sections will be available soon.

The document is available for purchase in CD format for $1, and a hard copy is available for $59.  Shipping and handling costs are extra if users would like a copy mailed to them.  The document is available in the Community Services Building at 1600 First Street at the Public Works Department desk.

Draft ADA plan available for comment

Over the past several months, the City of Napa has been working on an update to our Self Evaluation and Transition Plan as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Throughout this process, we have sought input and feedback from the community to get perspective on how to best serve the needs of people with disabilities who use City facilities, programs, and services.

River access restricted at site of First Street Bridge replacement

Effective Thursday June 19, 2008, no watercraft traffic is allowed under the First Street Bridge over the Napa River as demolition proceeds. The closure is to protect the safety of persons on the river in this area. Signs are posted to warn boaters.When demolition of the bridge is completed, this area of the river will again be accessible during non-working hours. Learn more about the project here.

Riverfront Gran Prix comes to Downtown Napa

On Saturday June 21, the Napa Rivefront Gran Prix bicycle race will take place in Downtown Napa.  An estimated 600 to 700 riders will take part in this one-mile, closed-loop event. The following road closures will be in place from as early as 5am to as late as 7pm.

  • Main St from First to Third
  • Third St from Randolph to Main
  • Randolph St from Third to Fourth
  • Coombs St from Second to Fourth
  • Brown St from Second to Third
  • Second St from Brown to Main

Focus groups forming

The City of Napa is seeking civic-minded volunteers who live and/or work in the City to take part in future online focus groups. Participants will be asked to fill out surveys on City program, services and issues. There is no compensation for taking part in this focus group project.
