The City of Napa is in the process of accepting applications for the selection of an applicant for a Medical Marijuana Dispensary Use Permit, as set forth in Napa Municipal Code Section 17.52.275. This webpage contains information regarding the development of the Medical Marijuana Dispensary regulations as well as application information. Information will be posted to this site as it becomes available.

UPDATED Tuesday August 31, 2010 Beginning Wednesday, September 1, Third Street between Soscol Avenue and Burnell Street will be closed for Flood Project work. This portion of Third Street will remain closed until mid December. To provide a safe detour route, the new traffic signal at Eighth and Soscol has been activated. Paving on First and Second Streets from Jefferson to California will require closures and detours this week. A full closure of both First and Second streets for paving is set for Wednesday, September 1, Thursday, September 2 and possibly part of Friday, September 3. Clay Street and Third Street will remain open for east-west travel. Drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Extended work hours of 7:00a.m. to 7:00 p.m. have been permitted to allow this work to be completed as quickly as possible. |

The Summer/Labor Day National Anti-DUI crackdown has resulted in a significant number of DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Napa County Avoid the 9 DUI deployments in Napa County. From 12:01 AM Friday August 20, 2010 through midnight Wednesday August 25, 2010 officers representing Napa County law enforcement agencies have arrested 31 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In 2009, 32 DUI arrests occurred during the same six day time period.

Wednesday August 25, 2010 The cities of Napa, American Canyon, St. Helena and Calistoga, the Town of Yountville and the County of Napa will jointly convene a public meeting on Monday, September 13, 2010, from 6:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at the Yountville Community Center, 6516 Washington Street in Yountville, to discuss the potential for consolidation of local government services. The purpose of the meeting is to learn about consolidation issues and efforts thoughout the nation and discuss concepts for consolidations in Napa County. If the participants identify areas in which consolidation could create greater efficiency, a thorough analysis of costs and benefits would follow. The meeting is open to the public and will be faciliated byJohn Firman, Director of Research with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). While public safety will be the primary area of discussion, consolidation of other government services will also be open for discussion. TheIACP takes no position on the merits of local consolidation efforts but supports the development of a carefully crafted process for interested communities. |

Tuesday August 24, 2010 The Community Development Blocl Grant (CDBG) Citizens’ Advisory Committee will meet August 30, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Committee Room to review drafts of the 2009-10 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) and the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI). The CAPER reviews accomplishments in achieving the goals set by the 2009-10 One Year Action Plan and primarily focuses on CDBG projects completed in FY 2009-10. The AI identifies barriers to fair housing choice and presents recommendations to overcome these barriers and monitors progress in achieving the recommendations. Both documents will be submitted to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) after they are reviewed and adopted by the City Council at a public hearing scheduled for September 21,2010.
